Founded in 2007, The Houston County Sharks were established as a matter of inclusion. Houston County realized that there was a population of students that didn’t have access to sports that others did. We had able bodied sports and Special Olympics for students with intellectual disabilities but no sports for students with physical disabilities. We approached the BOE with the idea for an adapted sports team. Mr. Carpenter, the current superintendent supported the idea and it grew from there. The Sharks have been blessed with unbelievable support from all of our superintendents board members, and schools since it’s inception.

Thank you for supporting our athletes. The sports wheelchairs cost around $4k. Your support will allow us to give our athletes the equipment they deserve. It takes a village. Thanks for being part of our village!
